The Life of L

Della has her own page on here, so I wanted to start one for Lana, too. This one won’t be quite as daily journal-ish as D’s is, though. I’ll use this space mainly to keep track of milestones, stats, things of that nature. Basically whatever I’d want to keep track of in a pen-to-paper journal and/or stuff that doesn’t really go in a baby book. So here we go…

(FYI, because I write so much about these kids, their pages are all broken into yearly chunks so as not to crash my site. I’ll keep the current year on the main page for ease of use. Enjoy!)

Snow day!! It was so random, because until about 9:00 last night there was nothing but rain! But the school district emailed us all around 7:00pm, saying that due to the forecasted gale-force winds plus predicted snow, they were preemptively cancelling everything for today. Daddy even got off work, too! And I guess it was a good thing they did, because it turned into a total blizzard overnight. I don’t think we’ve ever had a March snow day before!

For the second time, you came with me to a musical production at the new cabaret theater downtown. Last night we saw Ain’t Misbehavin’, which featured music by Fats Waller and was set in Roaring Twenties’ Manhattan. It was so good, and we had so much fun!

You got your ears double pierced today. Della wanted to get hers done over spring break, so I asked if you did, too, and you said yes. You picked a pretty pair of little opalescent studs. Perfect! Hopefully one doesn’t fall out at swim lessons and I have to repierce it by hand this time. 😉

You had your first track meet today, indoors at the high school, and I worked the high jump pit at it. You did the long jump and ran the 880, and fortunately I got to see both from my vantage point. You are such a good runner, and I love watching you go! I think you’re enjoying it more than cross country, so I hope you like it for the whole season and stick with it next year.
